SECOND SCHOOLWIDE ACHIEVEMENT RALLY CELEBRATES STUDENT AND TEACHER SUCCESS!

IMG_6957.JPG

On Friday, March 28 Macy students, teachers and staff gathered to for our second Achievement Rally on the Macy Steps. Student achievement was recognized in the following areas: Perfect Atttendance, 4.0 GPA, Most Improved, English Language Learner Reclassification, Student of the Month, and all students who received recognition in our Caught Being Good behavior program. Additionally, one teacher on staff was recognized by Mr. Arregui for outstanding contributions to our school community. Macy Teachers also participated in a fun activity that our students loved!

The Macy PTA generously provided funding for this celebration of student success, and many of our own Macy Teachers kindly donated gift cards and other prizes to raffle to our students. Our counselor, Ms. Quan welcomed and hosted our Achievement Rally and helped to present many of the awards that our students received. Mr. Arregui also greeted our students, and commended them for their positive efforts. He also reminded all of our students or our high expectations behaviorally, and academically and strongly encouraged all Macy Knights to continue to make excel and make choices that will ultimately lead them towards success.

After thanking all of our teachers for their hard work and commitment, Mr. Arregui presented our 6th Grade Teacher, Ms. Rodriguez with our Outstanding Teacher of the Quarter Award. Ms. Rodriguez is an incredible teacher who is deeply committed to the success of her students; she also provides incredible support to her 6th Grade Team and is a beloved member of our Macy School Community.

IMG_6968.JPGTo close our Student Achievement Rally, Ms. Bayless led a fun activity where five of our teachers, Mr. Velasquez, Ms. Clark, Ms. Ligh, Ms. Chavira and Mr. Kelly graciously volunteered to participate in. Students were given cans of shaving cream and other fun items, and their job was to decorate their teachers as best as they could. In the end, the entire student body voted on which teacher was the best decorated, and Mr. Kelly emerged as our winner.

Our students, teachers and staff continue to work hard at Macy. We consistently come together celebrate our successes and strive forward as a unified school community that is committed to excellence. We are proud to be Macy Knights!
